چکیده

Abstract INTRODUCTION Over the past two decades, treatment of small-to-medium (< 3cm) sporadic vestibular schwannomas (VS) has experienced a definite shift to stereotactic radiosurgery vis-a-vis microsurgery. We performed systematic review and meta-analysis VS patients primarily treated with (SRS) or microsurgery (MS), particular attention hearing preservation outcomes (HPO), tumor control (TC), facial nerve dysfunction (FND). Materials METHODS A was conducted (Medline database) for period, 2010 2020. Studies mean/median follow-up >/= 3 years were included. had report an acceptable standardized metric. HPO, TC, complications (with special FND) compared between MS SRS groups. RESULTS Thirty-two studies met our inclusion criteria: 10 23 (one comparative study included in both arms). HPO comparable group (56% 59%, p=0.1527). TC significantly better (98%) versus (92%) [p < 0.0001]. FND higher (11%) (2%) CONCLUSION The ability diagnose small earlier, allows time consider all possible options which include observation, radiosurgery, data presented this will assist physicians their appropriately counsel on benefits risks modalities most recent evidence factors that contribute greatly patients’ quality life: FND.
